Montrose of Ballarat is the oldest bluestone miners cottage in Ballarat, is classified by the Australian Heritage Commission and classified by the National Trust.

Today, it is also a sumptuous, private getaway where you can treat yourself to an indulgent escape in a peaceful, secluded environment with every modern convenience at your fingertips. Montrose of Ballarat is also a place for intimate gatherings such as preparing for a wedding, wedding photography and honeymoon nights.

In winter it is a place to snuggle in front of the fire and enjoy a fine wine, play a board game, listen to music or simply relax in the lavish surroundings.

In summer it’s a place to bask in the private, sunny courtyard or laze away the days in the hammock under the boughs of a shady tree.

Garden - here you can wander among the plants, which include an Ellison Orange apple tree believed to have been planted by the original owners and to be the only one in the Southern Hemisphere, savor the aroma of the fragrant herbs and delight in the water feature all of which combine to make this a relaxing, calm environment in which to unwind.

Memorabilia wall - you can trace the history of the cottage through this truly unique display of historic documents and photographs.

Opulent bedroom - sumptuous linen on the Queen-size bed and quality fittings ensure you will have sweet dreams. (Dble sofa bed also available).

Ensuite bathroom - a cast iron claw foot bath, marble vanity, heated towel rail and the finest fittings make this a bathroom in which you can truly indulge yourself.

Sitting room - a gas log open fire, air conditioning, deep comfortable chairs, widescreen TV, DVD/CD player and stereo, books, games and music ensure your every day is a treat. Broadband internet connection.

Kitchen/breakfast room - every modern convenience from espresso machine to dishwasher make the necessary tasks effortless.

Laundry facilities are available for guests.
